I did enjoy reading this seriesBy Sandeep KaurI would give this series a 3. Firstly, getting this series was a bit stressing because I had to wait over a month for it to ship. However, when I got around to reading it I was drawn. Becca Fitzpatrick opens up an entirely different world with angels, fallen angels. The series does mainly revolve around our two protagonist lovers Nora and Patch, however there are many other strong characters introduced throughout the series. I did enjoy reading this series, but I had a few problems: 1 I didn't like that the author repeated the story in every book following the first one - because if you're reading the series you should already know what's happening and this got really repetitive. There are a lot of events happening in the book that your attention does not waver too much and you are drawn to the story.

Read it! By Bridget S. After seeing all of the bad reviews on the different books, it took me a while to decide if I wanted to take the chance and read this. I'm so glad I took that gamble. Maybe the character development or their personalities didn't work well for some readers, but it definitely did with me.

Some readers like that "bad boy" who actually goes through a transformation as the stories progress but still doesn't lose his "bad boy" image. He goes from being legitimately bad to bad in a good way.

An icy current tickled the back of his neck. Over his shoulder, he gave the darkness a long, distrustful look. But the hollow sounds behind him made him think it did.

The Black Hand was supposed to be immortal. All Nephilim were. Everyone always did.

It was only a matter of time. If Nora had murdered the Black Hand, she was in danger. Scott had seen it too. The enchanted ring had sizzled like it had blue fire trapped under the crown.

Even now it glowe mid a cold, dying blue. According to Dante, the Black Hand had prophesied it would be the sign of his death. It kicked in the moment he died. Terms of the oath. And this war is ending in ceasefire. He squeezed the bridge of his noseā€”he had a lot of work to do.

He trudged forward, keeping his eyes out for puddles. Dante would be too, if he knew Patch at all. He cursed himself for not arguing against it earlier. We take orders. The threat dug under his skin. Nora was the closest thing to a sister Scott had.

They had a bond, and not that kind of bond. She was his responsibility. He and Dante pressed deeper into the tunnels, the walls tightening around their shoulders.

Scott turned sideways to squeeze into the next passageway. Clumps of earth broke loose from the walls, and he held his breath, half expecting the ceiling to crumble in one great heave and bury them.

At last Dante tugged on a ring pull, and a door materialized out of the wall. Scott surveyed the cavernous room inside. Same dirt walls, stone floor. Scott stepped off the hatch door concealed in the stonework and yanked on the handle. Heated voices carried up through the opening.

Bypassing the ladder, he dropped through the hole, landing ten feet below. He assessed the cramped, cavelike room in an instant. A fire roared off to the side. A branding iron plunged into the coals glowed orange with heat. Are you prepared to lead the Nephilim?

We need to know we have your full allegiance. Several nodded in agreement. Nora, he called to her in mind-speak. What are you doing?
